Thorpe Giants Gala - 11th June 2023

Thank you, everyone, for your time, effort and commitment over the two days (in the heat ?).


What a way to close out this seasons official football activities with a fabulous celebration of football development at the Thorpe Giants Gala.


Our blacks team finished second in their group (after a Win and a Draw) and progressed through to the Champions League Semi-Final, in a fast encounter that finished, Stanningley Blacks 0 - 3-Wakefield Owls.

Our Blues team finished third in their group and progressed through to the Europa League Semi-Final, where they overcame Thorpe Giants 2-0, before losing cruelly on Penalties in the Final vs Rothwell Town.

A massive well done to all players. We saw some great tackling, some great passing, some outstanding saves, some great shots and some wonderful goals, including one from a goalkeeper, but most of all we saw some great moments of team-ship and togetherness.


Along with battling against the heat, we battled many injuries today and still managed to get lots of game time for all of our players.


Please be very proud of your players and reassure them, that as well as making you proud, their coaches and their entire community club are all very, very proud of them.
